The Capital District Clean Communities Coalition periodically receives notification from the US Department of Energy (USDOE) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) about funding opportunities for Alternative Fueled Vehicles, Fueling Infrastructure and Research. Links will be provided below for more information about these opportunities.
NYSERDA has re-issued the Biofuel Station Program. This used to be called PON 1093. It is now under PON 2290. Approximately $5 million is available. This program provides up to 50% of the costs (max $50,000 per station) to pay for the necessary upgrades required to sell biofuel to the general public. NYSERDA will be starting a statewide marketing program later this year to help drive traffic to biofuel stations. The application process is quite simple--to get started, applicants must complete a three page application; there is no obligation to continue with the program if it proves infeasible.
