The Capital District Clean Communities Coalition periodically receives notification from the US Department of Energy (USDOE) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) about funding opportunities for Alternative Fueled Vehicles, Fueling Infrastructure and Research. Links will be provided below for more information about these opportunities.

NYSERDA
RFP 1613
provides funding statewide for the installation of energy conservation measures
including: energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean fleet projects. This
is a NYSERDA program, funded by ARRA money from the DOE—$74 million is available
statewide. Municipal governments, public K-12 schools, public universities or
colleges, public and private hospitals, and not-for-profits (501c3’s) are
eligible to apply. For transportation projects, there’s funding available for
alternative fuel vehicles (CNG, propane, hybrid, electric, etc.), alt-fuel
infrastructure, and idling reduction technologies like coolant heaters. The
turnaround time is quick—the first round of applications are due August 24, but
there will be additional rounds if there is still money available. For
transportation projects, the opportunity offers 75% of the incremental cost of
AFVs or 75% of the cost of idling reduction or infrastructure projects.
First Round Proposals are due August 24, 2009.
